One civilian hurt in terrorist firing on police in Kashmir


Srinagar, June 4 (IANS): One civilian was injured as terrorists opened fire on a police party at Yaripora in the Kulgam district of South Kashmir on Thursday, officials said.

Terrorists opened fire at the police party after their vehicle was stopped at a checkpoint and fled the spot leaving behind a Santro car. The injured civilian has been rushed to the hospital.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to nab the attackers. Additional forces have been deployed.
