Udupi, Jun 4: "Karnataka Assembly speaker, Vishweshwar Hegade Kageri should resign as he is an obstruction to the Constitutional duty of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). The committee will morally support H K Patil and PAC. All the documents should be kept in the custody of the state chief secretary," demanded Amrith Shenoy, vice-president, Karnataka Rashtra Samiti.

He addressed a press meet at the Udupi press club on Thursday June 4. "The speaker should hand over all documents, files, summary notes and other information concerning the respective official websites at the earliest."

The KRS will welcome the decision of the PAC president. "He will move a privilege motion against the speaker. The committee should not go back on its decision.

"Kageri should apologize for creating a constitutional crisis unnecessarily. He should clear the constitution injunction.

"KRS will bring it to the notice of the governor. There were irregularities in procuring the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits. Also, it is stated that the equipment was procured at triple the cost in the market, while others say that the equipment procured was of low quality. Hence, speaker Kageri is involved in corruption. The government needs to conduct a fair investigation on this misuse of power," demanded Amrith Shenoy.

Prasvad Karkera, Udupi district president, Shahid Ali, vice-president, Kiran Vinutha, district secretary, Safwan, town vice-president, Serman Ahmed, rural president, Shan Suddin of the minority unit and others were present.
