Bengaluru: Small screen actress Chandrana ends life

Bengaluru, Jun 2: Chandana, a TV artiste, consumed poison and embraced death reportedly hurt at having been duped by her love after doling out promise of marriage, and also having faced insult from him.

V K Chandana, native of Belur in Hassan district and resident of Tavarekere, created a selfie video just before committing suicide in which she explained about the way she was cheated. On the basis of a complaint filed by her father, a criminal case stands filed against Chandana's former lover, Dinesh, who is employed in a private firm, his father and some others, who have been accused of abetment to suicide and cheating.

Chandana, who stayed in a rented house at Tavarekere, had acted in a few TV series and advertisements. Dinesh and Chandana were in love with each other since the last five years, and this was well-known to the acquaintances of the actress and her family. It is said that Dinesh had other ideas, and besides having sexual relationship with Chandana, he had used her for financial gains.

Chandana's parents say that their daughter took this extreme step as Dineh refused to marry her and also levelled unfounded allegations against her.

As soon he came to know that Chandana had consumed poison, Dinesh came to her home along with friends and shifted her to a private hospital. But her life could not be saved, it is gathered.
