UP man prank calls corona helpline for samosa, made to clean drain

Daijiworld Media Network - Rampur (SHP)

Rampur, Mar 31: The lack of fear towards the coronavirus guidelines in India has displayed the ignorant behaviour of citizens of the country. While the people on the frontline are trying their best to contain the spread of the virus and render help to the people who are at a disadvantage, some of the individuals are having their slice of fun by making a mockery of crisis by defying the law and order. One such behaviour was witnessed in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh.

The UP government has set up helpline numbers to help underprivileged people amid the lockdown. However, to add to the troubles, the Rampur administration has been receiving several odd calls.

One man repeatedly called the district’s coronavirus-linked control room demanding samosas. Fed up with his calls, the DM granted his request along with a punishment to set him straight.

The incident that has been shared on the official Twitter handle of Rampur’s District Magistrate, Aunjaneya Kumar Singh has gone viral, where Twitteratis have lauded the step taken by Singh.

In a tweet shared in Hindi, Singh details how the man called in for the samosas. After repeated warnings, the samosas were sent to him but with a 'little gift'.

Unfortunately, the Rampur helpline number receives many such calls daily. A day before someone wanted pizza delivered at his home.
