Kasargod: Number of coronavirus-affected people continues to swell

Kasargod, Mar 30: The district has been grappling with the incessant increase in the number of coronavirus-positive patients.

On Sunday March 29, this infection was detected in seven more people in the district. All the infected persons had returned from abroad.

On Saturday, only one case had come to the fore in the district. With the addition of seven cases on Sunday, the number of affected people in the district rose to 89. Two of the infected persons belong to Chattnanhal and Madhur, while one each are from Nellikunje, Mogral, and Chengala. All of them are men, they had come from Dubai, and they are aged between 25 and 50, the authorities said.

As far as Kerala state is concerned, on Sunday, a total of 20 new cases were detected. Apart from seven who hail from Kasargod district, eight others are from Kannur, and one each are from Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts. Among them, 18 had returned from foreign country recently.

So far, 202 from the state have been identified with the infection and 181 are in hospital now.

    Kasaragod has lot of non-residents doing unskilled labour type of jobs in gulf... because of the living conditions are very poor, chances of infection is high, social distancing is not possible because they are accommodated in labour camps. Instead of these people again having to pass through abysmally unsatisfactory medical facilities in North Kerala, better Kerala Govt shifts them to cochin or trivandrum through helicopters...

    Kerala has highest number of cases due to efficient tracking and testing, not just because of NRI population, it is going to swell further as rapid testing is going to start this week. Just wait and watch the numbers in Karnataka will swell as and when the testing efficiency is improved. All states in India need to focus on improved testing counts asap.

    Looks like Kerala CM strongly believes that liquor will revive and cure many as he has proposed for liquor to be part of the medical prescription. Why doesnt he actually start in making make shift hospitals, ambulance labs to collect and test samples, bring in their strong medical team which he proudly boasts of and start attending the patients in kerala rather just politicizing the issue and asking to open borders. Whereas center has already provided strict guidelines for centers to be closed completely and only kept open for med supplies and essential items.

    89 and they want to come to mangalore. I request modiji and the central govt don't give prefer to open the border where will mangaloreans go if emergency emerges here please think. Will mangaloreans go to kasargod for treatment? 😂 . Instead govt should question vijayan about his contribution to kasargod it has been neglected for years

    Kerala, has notoriously become the epicenter of Coronavirus, in our nation.... Alarm bells are ringing, in Dakshin Kannada district, as the patients are gate crashing, into Kudla for treatment... CM Vijayan, has failed to develop his state, he believes that Kudla is an extended arm of Kerala !!!! The fear of transmission the fatal pandemic into Karnataka is absolutely frightening !!!!!

    Pinarayi ia in a hurry to open the border. In long years kerala state government is failed to create jobs, food and hospitals for their citizen. They fully depend on Karnataka,Tamilndu for the medical ,food and commodity. Still they pat their back themselves. Time to change Kerala. You cannot live with only Coconut.

    By the way this virus is spreading around the world, it now appears it is going to touch the lives of at least half the worlds population.

    I am seriously wondering why was there little or no serious action taken by the authorities around the world when a Chinese doctor in Wuhan got his first case on November 17, 2019 and there was little or no strong action taken by our leaders for over 4 months.

    The people of Kerala should know that Mangalore is safe and when we open borders of Karnataka, Mangalore will be in danger.

    Please procure more test kits to DK and Udupi. Keep a strict vegil in bo
    Border district. All people came to Mangalore by flight from Feb 1st onwards should be checked properly. Hope the administration is noted their contact nos. Start carona helpline desk. Recrute youngsters for this Job. If any symptoms with any patients kindly do the test. There should be vehicle labs to collect the samples.

    More than half are returned from the Gulf and other countries. This is what happening if you leave you place to outer world to make money and jump the ship at first signal of sinking.

    Now, tend to your sick, don't flush them out to neighbouring states. Use the money you earned, don't pickle it up.

    This is why one shud follow precautions and, quarantine themselves after coming from abroad. They came down, randomly went around meeting people and spreading infection. If borders were not closed, we would have the same case like them now.. To each one his own..
