Puttur: Gas tanker overturns, major mishap averted through quick operation

Puttur, Mar 28: A gas tanker overturned at the Bedrodi bend on Mangaluru-Bengaluru national highway near Uppinangady of the taluk on the morning of Saturday, Mar 28.

Tanker got damaged in the mishap and gas got leaked from the tank. The driver of the tanker lost control due to which the vehicle overturned. The driver escaped unhurt. Precautionary measures were taken immediately. Vehicular movement was completely stopped on the highway.

As the vehicle movement was sparse, the operation did not take much time. HP emergency maintenance squad, fire service personnel and Uppinangady police coordinated the rescue operation.
