Dubai: Residents obtain permission to leave homes through website launched

Daijiworld Media Network – Dubai (EP)

Dubai, Mar 28: A website www.move.gov.ae is launched for residents to request for permission to leave their homes for essential work. A nationwide disinfection programme was begun in UAE to sanitize the country to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Users should mention their Emirates ID, car registration, details of their purpose and destination and time of the trip. Once the process is complete, users will receive an SMS confirming registration.

The Crisis and Disaster Management Team called on the public to comply with directives for staying at home during this critical period. Those who violate directives during this period will be subject to legal action.

The National Sterilisation Programme is part of the government's preventive and precautionary measures against the novel coronavirus.

Users of the website should register their phone number after which they will receive an OPT code via SMS to complete the process. They should carry their Emirates ID and work ID cards to present it for verification when required. Only people who have registered on the website and received approval for their request will be allowed to leave home in Dubai. The process is made to ensure the safety of the people during the sterilization programme.

I have been trying to register on this website www.move.gov.ae since 4 pm today but first it said, the website will be open for registration at 4 pm, then they said it will be open at 6 pm. At 6.30 pm, it is still not open for registration for permission to go out to an ATM.
