Mangaluru: Konkani community of Israel extends financial aid to economically weaker sections

Mangaluru, Feb 26: Konkani speaking association, Konkani Community of Israel (KCI) on October 26 celebrated Christmas Sports Day at Luna Park, Tel Aviv amidst pomp and gaiety. Several sports were held on the occasion. People across religions without discrimination participated. Out of the amount collected from donors during the competitions, a total of Rs 2,10,000 was donated to the poor and needy.

Bantwal taluk’s Monappa Poojary suffering from an illness and whose family does not have a house to live in, was donated Rs 1,00,000. Rs 35,000 was donated to Mumbai-based Sweety Avishkar Jadav suffering from an ailment related to bone marrow. Rs 25,000 was donated for medical treatment of Bhasker Kandya, resident of Mira Road, Mumbai. Rs 25,000 was donated to Mangaluru’s Uday Poojary suffering from kidney failure. Similarly, Rs 25,000 was donated for medical treatment of 34-year old Kodikal resident Sarita.



KCI has 19 members at present. It is commended for several of its programmes in Israel.
