Mangaluru, Feb 22: Bandra East (Maharashtra) MLA Zeeshan Siddique said, "Congress is clear about its stand on Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and Natioanl Population Register (NPR). We will try to convince Shiv Sena to support us on the same in Maharastra.”

Addressing media here on Saturday, February 22, he said, "Shiv Sena has opposed NRC and NPR but they are not clear on NRC. There is a coordination committee meeting coming up and we will convince Shiv Sena on CAA and urge not to implement it in Maharashtra. We will pass a resolution in the upcoming budget session about not implementing CAA in Maharashtra.

“I am the youngest MLA and my vision is to empower youths as there is high unemployment in this country. We should make sure that Maharashtra should set an example in creating employment for youths. When it comes to my constituency, my focus would be development and providing clean water. We also implemented Mumbai 24x7 where work will be in three shifts, where more employment will be generated. I and Aaditya Thackeray share good bonding and Mumbai 24x7 was his idea which we have implemented,” he said.

When asked about Rahul Gandhi's president post, he replied, "There is a need to introspect Delhi election results which was debacle for Congress. Rahul Gandhi should lead the party more aggressively and bring out the best what Congress deserves.”

District Congress president Harish Kumar, Congress leaders Neeraj Pal, T K Sudhir, Santhosh Shetty, U K Monu and others were present.
