Bengaluru: Chief minister Yediyurappa felicitates Kambala jockey Srinivas Gowda

Bengaluru, Feb 17: Srinivas Gowda, a Kambala jockey from Moodbidri in Karnataka, who made headlines after he ran 142.5 meters in just 13.62 seconds and is compared to Usain Bolt was honoured by Karnataka chief minister B S Yediyurappa.

Kannada and Culture and Tourism minister C T Ravi, Labour minister Arbail Shivaram Hebbar, Youth Empowerment and Sports Department principal chief secretary Kalpana among others were present.

The Labour department presented Srinivas Gowda a bike worth Rs 3 lac.

Deputy chief minister Dr C N Ashwanth Narayan also felicitated Srinivas Gowda in his office and presented him financial aid of Rs 1 lac.

    You must be glad because Usain Bolt will not be No 2. immediately.
    FYI, Srinivas Gowda has not refused the offer, he has just postponed because of his commitments until the end of this Kambla season.
    Anyways, we Indians would love to see him put Usain bolt behind him on the tracks!!
