Mangaluru: St Agnes College (Autonomous) organises community programme

Mangaluru, Feb 17: As part of ‘Agnes towards community’ programme, 36 students of BSc third year from the Department of Mathematics of St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, under the guidance of Vidya Saraswathi, Sr Evet Priya and Relisha visited Sri Venkataramana Higher Primary School, Kulai, Mangaluru on February 15, 2020.



At around 10.30 am the students reached the Sri Venkataramana school premises. They were divided into two groups wherein one group had to take up PowerPoint presentation related to various topics of science while the other group had to demonstrate and explain the principles involved in various simple experiments and models. The topics chosen by the students included surface tension, density, fire extinguisher, the concave and convex lens and volcanoes.

Around 100 children who were part of the activities, were very cooperative and curious to know about the scientific principles involved behind the experiments.

The St Agnes students enjoyed sharing their knowledge with young energetic children and it was a learning experience for them.

At 12.30 pm, the activities came to an end and the school authorities provided the students with refreshments.
