Karkala: Blood donation camp held at Manjunath Pai Memorial Government First Grade College

Karkala, Jan 25: The Youth Red Cross Unit, National Service Scheme, Rotaract Club, Rovers & Rangers of Manjunatha Pai Memorial Government First Grade College Karkala, in association with Rotary Club of Karkala Rock city on Friday January 24 organized a blood donation camp at the premises of Manjunath Pai Memorial Government First Grade College, Karkala.

The camp was held in collaboration with KMC Hospital. The formal function was inaugurated by Surendra Nayak, president of Rotary Club Karkala Rock City. Dr Bharathesh, former governor Rotary Zone 3180, Devdas Patkar, headmaster of Mudaru High school who is also a habitual blood donor, Abdul Rehman, Prashanth, Ganesh, Shivaram, Mithun were also invited as chief guests during the formal programme on to the dais.

Surendra Nayak stressed on the need for social service of this sort in educational institutes today to imbibe societal awareness and responsibility amongst today’s youth.

Principal of the College, Prof Shrivarma Ajri M in his presidential remarks expressed his pleasure of joining hands with Rotary Club, Mogaveera Sangha of Udupi and Mandarthi and also the staff of KMC Hospital for this noble cause.

The programme was compered by the Physical Education director and Rovers leader Krishnamoorthy Vaidya.

Assistant librarian and Rotaract co-ordinator Venkatesh welcomed the gathering.

Programme officer NSS, Prof Naveen gave the opening remarks for the blood donation camp.

Programme officer of Youth Red Cross, Prof Divya Prabhu proposed the vote of thanks.

The blood donation camp concluded with 127 units of blood collected from the donors.
