Chitradurga: Lorry on reverse gear crushes nine-month-old baby

Chitradurga, Jan 23: In a heart-wrenching accident which happened near Tamatakallu in the district on Wednesday January 22 morning, a nine-year-old baby became victim of a fluke accident.

The baby had been laid on a cloth spread out over the highway side by its parents, who were working for a flyover being built newly at Tamatakallu. Suresh from Singaripet in Vikarabad distrcit of Telangana and his wife were busy working as usual by leaving their son Tejas, to sleep some distance away..

Driver of a truck hired to transport mud and debris from the flyover site put the vehicle on reverse gear, not knowing that a child was lying on the path of the truck wheels. The wheels of the truck moved on the baby's head, crushing the head and killing Tejas instantly.

A case about the accident was registered in Chitradurga rural police station.
