Mangaluru, Dec 11: In a thrilling final in the 1st All India Under-14 Boys Football Tournament at the Perfect Pass ground in Mangaluru, team Mask Ullal beat Soccer Ullal by 3 -1, to lift the Denz Foundation Trophy.
Former Mangaluru South MLA J R Lobo distributed the trophies at the end of the finals. Strong Dynamos 'A' team from Malappuram lost to Soccer Ullal in the first semi-final, while Mask Boys beat St Joseph's Bajpe in the other semi-final.
However, St Joseph's were awarded the Best Disciplined Team award. There were 25 teams in the 2-day five-a-side tournament, which was appreciated by all the teams.
The great football initiative by Denz Foundation was held for the first time in Mangaluru. Viva Ventures handled the event in a professional manner. Organiser Denzil Fernandes thanked all the teams and sponsors for their overwhelming support.
