The requirement was brought to his notice as soon as he was appointed as the president. “I met Kannada, Culture and Tourism minister C T Ravi four times with the demand in Bengaluru. I also met Dakshina Kannada DC Sindhu B Rupesh with the demand and said that the request for the Bhavan is long pending and requested her intervention. Konkani people's contribution is one of the main reasons for development of coastal belt...they pioneered banks (3 nationalised banks), education (Dr T M A Pai was pioneer of general and professional education in the whole country) and KMC hospital, not to speak of restaurants, Taj Mahal... and in politics, T A Pai, Srinivas Mallya, George Fernandes... their contribution to society deserves to be respected, not only that, even Christian konkanis also contributed a lot to D.K., Udupi in the fields of education and medical care. Now many players are there in these fields, however konkanis played pioneering role.

I am happy for Konkani People, also Konkani People are the lucky one compare to us Tuluvaas, Konkani's fled Goa due to Portuguese and landed everywhere including Tulunaad, but till now our land or culture is not identified officially, half Tuluvas are living as Kannadigas another half as Malayali's , so painful it is. We are nor Kannadigas neither Malayalis, We are Tuluvaas and our Tulu and Tulunaad is older than malayalm and kerala.
