Mangaluru, Dec 9: District-in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary inaugurated 'Koti Chennaya' police residential apartment, here at police lane in Pandeshwar on Monday, December 9.

Addressing the gathering, Kota Srinivas Poojary said, "The police residential apartment was a long pending demand which has now been inaugurated. When it comes to providing facilities to the police personnel, there are several demands and requirements that need to be fulfilled. Due to hard work and effective policing, law and order is maintained in the society and India is a peaceful country. Government will look into their demands and fulfill basic requirements such as revising salary, providing proper transportation. When I was the opposition leader, we have urged to introduce Auradkar report and we will soon look into implementing the Auradkar report.”

Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath assured full-fledged support to the Police in terms of development works at Police lane. “We will soon lay foundation stone for concretizing the road of police lane worth Rs 50 lac,” he announced.

The Koti Chennaya police residential apartment work which was undertaken in the year 2016 was worth Rs 25 crore. The residential apartment consists of two blocks with G plus 5 floors with 48 flats in each block.

Superintendent of police Laxmi Prasad was also present.

    A very good, sincere report on construction cost ... its Rs 26 crores for a residential apartment having 96 (48+48) flats that means cost per flat is Rs260,417!!
    where our commerical property business people makes nearly minimum 500% margin by selling a apartment like @ Rs13L
    time to wake up dear government - it will give business to property sector and justice to common people even if sells aprtments @ 100% margin...government must -
    1) control property business and charge tax on margin they gain
    2) property business to individual will spoil the market, let with go with government undertaking
    3) fix the property per person, if one is having more than one property it must be taxed 100% unless he own license for business
    4) manufacturing sectors closed manufacturing business and diverted business in property sector since their huge margin with low cost and no long run risk

    Forget about balcony... how long the building will stand lets see... police quarters are the worst built with no proper facilities.... the toilets get blocked often, no proper air movement facilities.. and the area will mostly be near cemeteries...

    This is a good move. However, it seems there is no balcony for any of these apartments? Where will the residents hang their clothes? If they hang clothes on the windows, this building will look ugly.
