Bengaluru: Medical college allotment issue - DKS warns BSY of serious action

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Dec 8: Former minister and senior Congress leader D K Shivakumar has warned chief minister B S Yediyurappa to refrain from trying to take revenge in politics with regards to the shifting of the medical college to Chikkaballapur, which was earlier allotted to Kanakapura.

D K Shivakumar is arguing that the medical college was allotted to his constituency of Kanakapura during the regime of the earlier Congress-JD(S) coalition government and all is set to hold the foundation stone laying ceremony for the same.

According to Shivakumar, the BJP government has decided to cancel the medical college allotted to Kanakapura and shift the same to Chikkaballapur on the behest of their MLA. In his letter to the CM, D K Shivakumar says, "Kindly send an order with immediate effect to restore the order of allotment of medical college to Kanakapura as was done by the earlier government and also mention a date for conducting the foundation stone laying ceremony. If the aim of the BJP government is just to play revenge politics, then I will have to resort to action in my own way in order to provide justice to the people of my constituency."

The letter further accuses Yediyurappa of directly involving in vendetta politics as he was single member cabinet who had ordered the cancellation of allotted medical college to Kanakapura and build the same in Chikkaballapur instead. The letter of D K Shivakumar quotes, "I am shocked to learn that this action is taken by you, who promised to the public that you would never resort to vendetta politics after assuming power."

D K Shivakumar further said that he does not have any objection for allotting one more medical college to Chikkaballapur. But he strongly objected the cancellation of the medical college that was sanctioned for his constituency of Kanakapura. Shivakumar also said that he is ready to lay down his life for this cause as it is his dream project.

Referring further to Yediyurappa's statement that he will not indulge in any revenge politics after coming to power, Shivakumar said that in reality the opposite is becoming true. But the former minister also mentioned that Yediyurappa has of late promised that a medical college will be sanctioned to Kanakapura as per the newspaper report, which Shivakumar displayed in the press conference.

In a recent statement chief minister Yediyurappa had said that the BJP government plans to establish one medical college in every district and demand to set up a medical college in taluk centres like Kanakapura will be looked into later.

Our M.P and MLA's are voted on caste and religion by our educated voters of the district. The M.P and MLA candidates are uncultured, uneducated and most importantly doesn't know the basics of constituency developing or it's needs(incapable, uncompetant to deiver). Worst is they don't even understand our national language Hindi to speak in Indian Parliament! Forget English....This is our reality my dear. What do you expect from these elected representatives to offer back to Society. Don't blame such scoundrels rather next time when you go for voting, think whether HE/SHE is fit to be our epresentative in our Assembly or Parliament to represent for our development??? Think 100 times and vote not on the basis of religion and caste!!!

How much we raise our voice, that much completion is getting delayed... Better to keep quiet and tolerate. It's waste to say anything because concerned people are not taking it seriously though they can do it... Our sankalkariya Bridge is better than that... Vehicles pass by easily even in rainy season.. Good friend of mine takes holy dips into that river...that much safe that bridge is!!
