Mangaluru, Dec 7: St Aloysius Gonzaga School held its kindergarten sports meet on Friday, December 6 in Gonzaga hall.

Chief guest Dr Smita Dheeraj Shetty, consultant periodontist, while inaugurating the meet gave an inspiring message saying, “A healthy nation is a wealthy nation. Sports helps to keep our mind healthy and gives an extra edge to face the challenges of life.” She also advised the teachers to cultivate their interest in various fields”.

Addressing the students, principal Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo gave a call to the kindergarteners to develop interest in sports from the early age along with academics.

Samarth Salian of KG-II B welcomed the gathering. The students displayed a rhythmic drill with enthusiasm. Agnes Saldhana, Physical Education teacher, administered the oath. Aparna Suresh, the KG coordinator, introduced the chief guest. Vote of thanks was rendered by Sparsh G of KG- II A.

The formal function was compered by Deepa Kumari Sequeira, teacher of KG-I. Then the much awaited sports events started which included many fun filled games. The lindergarteners exhibited true sportsmanship by participating in all the events. The day came to an end with the school anthem.
