Udupi, Nov 17: "Extra-curricular activities, along with educational progress, have a strong influence on the students at school and college level. It is possible for a student, who is physically fit, to attain greater heights in both his education and professional career. Besides, the sports activity that takes place in schools and colleges increases our mental strength," said ASP of Kundapur Taluk Hariram Shankar, who inaugurated the 14th annual sports day of Vakwadi Gurukula Public School.

Hoisting the flag of the sports day, Hariram further said, "Learning is a continuous process. So every student has to utilize all the opportunities that come on his way during his educational career and put a solid foundation for future life."

The programme was presided over by a joint executive of Bandya educational institution Subhashchandra Shetty.

Attractive march past by the students, Karate demonstration and oath-taking enthralled the spectators, who had come to witness the sports meet. The principal of Gurukula educational institute Aravind Murali was present on the occasion.
