Thane: Playback singer Geeta Mali dies in road accident

Thane, Nov 15: Well known Marathi playback singer Geeta Mali died in a road accident in Thane district in Maharashtra, said the police on Thursday.

After returning from a US trip, Mali and her husband Vijay on their way back to their hometown in Nashik on the Mumbai-Agra highway met with an accident around 3 pm when their car hit a container parked along a road.

Though they were rushed to hospital, the singer died during treatment. Her husband is currently undergoing treatment at Shahpur Rural Hospital.

Just before the accident, Geeta Mali has posted a selfie on her Instagram page after landing at Mumbai airport.
