Bhatkal, Oct 21: The murder mystery of Affan Jabali (25), a resident of Puravarga of the taluk is getting unearthed slowly. It is now gathered that the Ibrahim Sheikh, father of the main accused Mohammed Iqbal, a resident of Puravarga, was a sorcerer (Koya).
Ibrahim is basically a native of Kerala and is known as the black magician of Kerala in this part. He had come to Bhatkal in 1965. He has got two daughters and two sons. The sons had continued the profession of sorcery of their father. That too, Mohammed Iqbal, the main accused in the murder of Affan is said to be very well-versed in sorcery than his father. Now the information is being circulated that people from Maharashtra, Ratnagiri and Goa used to come to seek his service.

Accused Iqbal never used to mingle with people of Puravarga. It is even rare that he has accompanied the people of Puravarga for the Friday Namaz. It is also said that he used to import Ganza from Kerala and supply it to other places. In addition, the locals are also saying that he used make friendship of elite people of the locality by promising them to get money in crore and lac at very cheap interest rate from private lenders of Maharashtra.
Sorcerer and main accused Iqbal had built a lodge by the name Danish, by the side of national highway in Puravarga itself. But this hotel was sold recently. He had taken a room on rent in the Shanbhag hotel of the city since three months and used to do his activities from there. Many strangers used to visit his room. Now the murder of Affan has taken place in the same room.
According to sources, two people by the same name Affan were the close aides of main accused Iqbal. He was dependent on both Affans in order to carry out his mysterious activities systematically. One of them was the deceased Affan, who used to live in Puravarga near the house of Iqbal. The other Affan is a resident of Mugdam Colony. Both the Affans were very loyal to the main accused Iqbal and used to carry out all the work that was assigned to them sincerely. For the same reason both the Affans were close to each other.
The deceased Affan, a resident of Puravarga is a lazy guy as per sources. A case of ganja trafficking was booked on him in the Bhatkal police station in 2017. Though his name was also making rounds in the murder of a person, that took place few years ago, it did not get registered in the police station.
The story of other Affan, a resident of Mugdam Colony is also the same. Though he was infamous for ganza trafficking in Mugdam Colony area, the police never arrested him. But he was arrested in a case of rape, as per the complaint filed by a girl of Mysuru. He was later released on bail.
The murder of Affan is really mystery as of now. Only time will unearth the reasons and people behind his killing.
