Mangaluru: Protest held demanding development of main roads of district

Mangaluru, Oct 20: Dakshina Kannada unit of Karnataka Rashtra Samiti (KRS) party held a protest near the Pumpwell Circle on October 19 against the people representatives and the ruling government for not giving any attention to the scores of deaths that are taking place in road accidents because of the worst condition of the state and national highways. 

The protesters raised slogans against the people's representatives and demanded to repair the roads. They also threatened to boycott the upcoming elections, if the roads are not repaired. 

It was decided during the protest to hold continuous protests till all the main roads of the Dakshina Kannada district become easily motorable. 

On the second day of the protest district president of KRS Alexander D'Souza Yeyyadi, district vice-president Roshan Lobo Bajpe, district chief secretary Prasad Bajilakeri, joint secretary Kabeer Katipalla, members of district committee Augustin Kaikamba, Mangaluru Riaz, Shabbir Bikkarnakatte, Mohammed Salim Subhashnagar, workers of the party and public were present.
