Ponda teacher accused of molestation released on bail

Ponda, Oct 19: A 58-year-old teacher from Ponda taluka was granted bail by the children's court on Friday. The accused was ordered to not enter Ponda for a month. He was arrested on Wednesday, for molesting six minor girls for the past six months.

The court also directed the teacher to be present whenever he was summoned during the investigation.

PI of Ponda, Mohan Gaude stated that the accused teacher is booked under Sec 354 of IPC, Sec 8 of the Goa Children's Act and Sec 10 of the POCSO Act.

Although he was accused, the parents of the minor students claimed that he was innocent.
