Haveri: Students made to wear cartons to avoid copying

Daijiworld Media Network - Haveri (MS)

Haveri, Oct 19: Generally CCTV installation and prohibition of electronic gadget including mobile, smart watches and books is done to prevent the students from copying or cheating during the examination. But a college in Haveri went a step ahead and used the 'Dabba' method in order to prevent the students from cheating in the examination.

All the students, who wrote the examinations were made to write them with cartons on their head with an open window in front in order to see the answer and question paper. This strange incident occurred at the Bhagat Pre-university College of the city on October 16 during the half-yearly examinations. The students carried a helmet type box made of card board on their head and wrote the examinations.

The photos of this bizarre experiment went viral on social media. Public has condemned the step taken by the college management. Though the students questioned this rule of the management, the college authorities did not budge. Ultimately, the students had to carry the cartons on their head and write the exam for two to three hours.

The deputy director of pre-university college rushed to the institution as the video of the bizarre incident went viral on social media and took the management of the college to task. He has served a notice to the management and asked them to explain their action.

Being Karnataka industrial state we become like North Indians because north Indians coming to specially Mangalore and other parts as well that is the simple reason for all this. Let educational ministries grant additional marks to those students who set for examination with cartons over their heads . Additional 8 Marks for each hour means for three total hours 24 marks.

These kind of colleges are to be closed.......they do not have infrastructure to conduct exams...!!!!! I can see two students sitting in a classroom amd also there is no distance between benches. I feel college has to closed, if they do not have a spacious examination room whereby students sit side by side and given such card boards to avoid copying. If they sit side by side what one can expect...?????!!!!

This method should be implemented on Male public toilet also! Some people have bad habit of peeping at the person next to him while urinating!!!

This will encourage many people to urinate standing straight, rather standing at an angle, protecting his modesty...
