Byndoor, Oct 18: In an accident that occurred on Sunkadagundi Bridge near Shiroor, a person, who was driving the car died on the spot, while another was seriously injured, when the car in which they were travelling collided with an oncoming truck.

The deceased is identified as Nithesh Mogaveera (23), a resident of Vandse. Santhosh Shetty (20), who is seriously injured in the accident has been admitted to a hospital.

Nithesh's head banged against the windshield due to the impact of the accident and he died on the spot. The front portion of the car has been completely damaged. Locals had a tough time in removing the dead body of Nithesh from the mangled car.

The right side road on the bridge was opened for traffic just two days ago as the bridge is being repaired. This turn is very dangerous and many accidents have taken place at the same spot.

Nithesh owned a hotel at Bagalakote since one year. He was on his way to home to attend a religious ritual. His friend Santhosh Shetty was also accompanying him. As it was raining heavily on the evening of Thursday, the accident occurred when the car lost control.
