Sharp India's current focus on lifestyle, home appliances


New Delhi, Oct 16 (IANS): Sharp Business Systems (India) Private Ltd, a subsidiary of the Japanese major Sharp Corporation, is currently focused on strengthening its lifestyle and home appliances segment in the country.

Shinji Minatogawa, Managing Director of Sharp Business Systems (India) told IANS on Wednesday that India is an important market for the company and it intends to invest more in the country in the coming times.

"We are focusing to strengthen our lifestyle, home and kitchen appliances segment as India is a developing country with an increasing purchasing power amongst its citizens. In the coming days, we would be launching a new range of consumer durables further adding to our offering to Indian consumers," Minatogawa said.

He also said that the company aims a 50 per cent growth in the small home appliances segment in the country.

"We have launched a wide range of home and kitchens appliances in India and in 2019-20 we are expecting a 50 per cent growth in small home appliances. With these products, we plan to continuously grow in India and increase market share at a steady pace," he said.

The MD also said that the company would be launch a new range of consumer durables in India. It recently launched a new range of smart home appliances.
