Bengaluru: Tree gets uprooted on school bus - Providential escape for students

Bengaluru, Oct 16: A huge tree fell across the road just when the bus of an international school in the city was passing by. Over 30 students of school, who were aboard, escaped disaster by a whisker.

The accident happened on Varthur-Gunjur main road on Monday October 14. At around 3.45 pm, the bus was moving towards Dommasandra carrying students of the school to their homes. It is said that the driver of the bus momentarily heard some cracking sound coming from the roadside but had no time to respond to the sound. Before he could react, the tree fell down on the bus and a truck that was parked by the roadside.

As the tree got deposited on two vehicles together, its impact was much less. Damage to the vehicles was also not much, it is gathered.
