Mangaluru: National seminar to be held at St Agnes College marking Mahatma Gandhi birth anniversary

Mangaluru, Sep 19: To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the departments of History, Economics and Political Science of St Agnes College (autonomous) in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra, here on September 23 at 9.30 am are organising a one-day national seminar.

The theme of the seminar is 'Rethinking Mahathma Gandhi – Issues and Challenges' and will be held at the conference hall, Sofia Block, St Agnes College, Bendore, here.

The seminar will be inaugurated by Justice V Gopala Gowda (former Judge, Supreme Court of India) and Prof B K Chandrashekar, former chairman, legislative council, Karnataka will be the chief guest.

The keynote speaker will be Prof Valerian Rodrigues (former Prof Political Science, JNU Delhi). Atul Nikam (state director, Nehru Yuva Kendra) will be the guest of honour. Sr Dr M Jeswina AC, college principal will preside over the programme.
