Mangaluru: Casba Bengre theft case - Two held, some items recovered

Mangaluru, Sep 19: Two persons, who have been accused of stealing cash and gold ornaments from a house at Casba Bengre here were arrested by Panambur station police personnel on Wednesday September 18. The arrested persons have been identified as Tauheed Khader (18) and Muhammed Afrid (22), from Casba Bengre.

Gold ornaments worth Rs 13,000, a cellphone worth Rs 2,000, Rs 3,000 in cash and a Honda Dio scooty reportedly used for the theft, have been confiscated.

It is learnt that the above two accused were passing by the checkpoint of Tannirbavi barricade on Wednesday when the police signalled them to stop. They overlooked the police signal and tried to flee. The police immediately took them into custody, it is gathered.
