Udupi: Milagres English Medium holds PTA general body meeting

Udupi, Sep 10: The PTA annual general body meeting of Milagres English Medium School Kallianpur was held at Milagres Tri-Centenary Hall on Monday, September 9.

Chief guest Rayan Lobo of Promise Foundation Bengaluru was resource person for the day.

Fr Dr Lawrence D ‘Souza, correspondent of Milagres Educational Institutions and PTA presidents Michael Mendonsa, Jayesh Kamath and vice presidents Rekha Shetty, Swati Nayak were escorted by the Headmaster Fr Lancy Fernandes SJ and headmistress Veera D’Silva. Pavana and Nelson staff representative of PTA were also present on the dais.

The programme began with the prayer song led by the staff of high school. Fr Lancy Fernandes SJ welcomed the gathering. The SSLC distinction holders of previous academic 2018-19 were felicitated by the correspondent. There were 29 distinction holders received honours from the School Management, a record no. in the whole district since many years consecutively.

Rayan Miranda, a trainer, spoke on career guidance and the role of parents in identifying the potentials and interests of kids right from early age. He said, students of students would not like to be what their parents wish rather what they are good at.

Fr Lawrence in his presidential remarks spoke of three environments that influence a child’s growth – home, school and society. The programme concluded with the National Anthem by Primary school staff.
A craft exhibition was arranged at the entrance to the hall to showcase the creative work of students in school. Priya and Sheela compered the programme. Ashatha proposed the vote of thanks.
