Beltangady: Teachers’ Day at Sacred Heart English Medium School, Madanthyar

Beltangady, Sep 10: On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, Sacred Heart English Medium School, Madanthyar had organised a prayer service with a theme -‘Teachers, You brighten our lives’ to extend a prayer of gratitude to the service of teaching and moulding the young minds.

To mark this day, a celebration was held on September 4 in the Sacred Heart Church Basement Hall. The programme began with escorting the guests and teachers by student representatives. Fr Basil Vas, correspondent, Fr Stany Pinto, assistant parish priest, Sr Jacintha Pinto, headmistress, deacon Ronald Serrao SJ and all the teaching and non teaching staff marked the day by their gracious presence.

As an eternal tradition to invoke the Almighty, the students of class VIII led the gathering into prayer.

The programme marked a welcome address with the significance of the sunflower and how they brighten the place where they grow mentioning the role of a teacher to brighten the class and lives of students with their innovative ideas.

The other programmes included dance, choral speaking, to convey teachers as heroes and an attribution which the sun and energy it radiates.

The students of Class X enhanced the celebration as they presented a mime dance and a harmonious song ‘I am glowing inside because of you’.

Fr Basil Vas, correspondent addressed the teachers and the non teaching staff with words and token of gratitude. Students of Class III articulated words of gratitude and appreciation towards their teachers very creatively.

At the end all the teaching and non-teaching staff, expressed their gratitude through a song ‘Thanking, thinking for what you are’.
