Subroto Cup: Northeast schools dominate on Day 5


New Delhi, Aug 24 (IANS) On Day 5 of the Subroto Cup International Football Tournament on Saturday, Nagaland's Greenwood School defeated Haryana's Vishvas Nav Sharda Public School 5-0, riding on braces by Akito and Imti Kumba in a Pool C encounter.

Maintaining the momentum for schools from the northeast, defending champions Unique Model Academy of Manipur consolidated their winning spree by defeating Our Lady Mount Carmel School, Goa, 6-0 in a Pool D fixture.

In a Pool E contest, Saidan Secondary School, Mizoram, defeated KV Maithon Dam, Ranchi, 10-0 with F. Lalthlamuana and Hun Mawa scoring hat-tricks. In Pool A Mumbai's Reliance Foundation School rode on a hat-trick by Ajay Mondal to trounce Pathways World School, Gurugram, 11-0.

In a Pool B fixture, Estiqlal School, Afghanistan, defeated Ramkrishna Mission Vivekanand Vidyapeeth, Chattisgarh, 8-1.
