Mangaluru, Aug 23: The train services on Mysuru and Bengaluru route from here are likely to resume from August 25. The services were suspended because of frequent landslides experienced on the railway tracks between Subrahmanya Road and Sakleshpur stations.

The Tracks and underlying ground had suffered huge damage at five spots. The railway had undertaken repair and restoration work on a large scale with the help of machines, its employees and labourers hired from outside. Even as work was continuing, more landslides happened. Out of these five spots, repair work at four places has been comlpleted. Final touches are being given to repair works near Yedakumeri where tracks had been destroyed on account of huge landslide. This work is expected to be completed in a couple of days.

Railway sources said that train services on this route are almost certain to resume from August 25.
