Bengaluru, Aug 22: Those who think they were unjustifiably not accommodated in the ministry, continued to pour out their anger on Wednesday August 21. Their displeasure apparently is more pronounced in the case of making Laxman Savadi a minister at their cost. 

The fact that veteran JD(S) leader, Basavaraj Horatti, met senior BJP leader, Umesh Katti, who is unhappy at being denied a place in the ministry, at the legislators home here on Wednesday and held discussions, has raised several eyebrows. Senior leaders of the BJP seem to be worried over strong resentment being expressed by senior party leaders like Umesh Katti, M P Renukacharya and others. Therefore, behind-the-scene efforts are on to pacify these leaders.

Even though Balachandra Jarkiholi wants a member of his family to be made a minster, it appears that his dissatisfaction is mainly on account of Savadi being made a minister. Balachandra feels that Savadi, who was defeated in the last assembly election, was made a minister in order to blunt the influence of Jarkiholi and Katti families in Belagavi district. Jarkiholi said that he has already told the chief minister that he does not aspire for money or positions and that he had worked more as a MLA than as a minister. He however, felt that Umesh Katti has faced injustice. 

Several people including C M Udasi, Raju Gowda and G Somashekara Reddy, met the chief minister at his residence to discuss the issue of neglecting them. Raju Gowda said later that some people had ensured that he missed the bus and wished them well. He said he was run out for no ball. Ramappa Lamani expressed anger by saying that defeated candidates are getting opportunities while people like him who have won four times have been overlooked. 

In the meantime, speaking at Mangaluru, newly appointed state BJP president, Nalin Kumar Kateel, advised people who missed to get positions of power for different reasons not to speak against the party which they had tended and built. He agreed that getting frustrated in such cases is understandable, and asked the concerned to get their grievances sorted out in the party forums and requested them to desist from openly airing their views.
