Mangaluru: Mount Carmel Central School inaugurates NCC - JD/JW

Mangaluru, Aug 21: Tuesday August 20 was a proud moment for Mount Carmel Central School as it inaugurated the NCC wing.

The esteemed guests of the day, Col Manoj V U, commanding officer, 18 KAR NCC wing and Lt Col Gracian Sequeira, adminstrative officer, 18 KAR NCC wing along with the Sr Melissa, the principal, Sr Carissima, the administrator and Sr Lidwyn Pinto, vice principal were ushered into the venue by Bhagyashree, senior cadet and Ananya from St Agnes PU College with official guard of honour.

The programme commenced with a prayer dance and lighting the diya by the dignitaries.

A long cherished dream has become reality today expressed Sr Melissa, emoting joy, gratitude and pride as she welcomed the guests and acknowledged their support on this NCC installation day.



The venue was filled with an aura of pride and patriotism as the NCC wing was inaugurated and the NCC flag was presented to the principal.

Col Manoj in his speech marched down memory lane way back to 1917. He also briefed the newly enrolled cadets on the aims and objectives of this organisation.

Col Gracian Sequeira administered the oath to the cadets and presented his message through a Power Point motivating them to march toward service, integrity and loyalty to the nation.

The presence of the parents of the newly enrolled cadets symbolised their support.

Sarita Yadav compered the programme and cadet Ashwini proposed the vote of thanks.

The programme ended with singing of the NCC anthem.
