Udupi: 8th OKR Biennial Priest Conference inaugurated

Udupi, Aug 20: The All India (Outside Kerala) 8th Biennial Priest Conference began on Tuesday, August 20 at Paradise Isle Resort, Malpe-Udupi. The conference is being for the first time hosted by the recently formed Brahmavar Diocese. The theme of the conference is ‘Renounce & Rejoice’.

The Brahmavar Diocesan Metropolitan welcomed the guests and dignitaries arrived for the conference.

The conference was inaugurated by His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Paulose Ii (Catholicos of the East and the Malankara Metropolitan / Supreme Head of Indian Orthodox Church). His Holiness in his Inaugural address called for rejuvenation of Priestly Ministry. Expounding the theme 'Renounce & Rejoice', His Holiness stressed on need of it in today's church.

H G Mathews Mar Severios, President, STOVS and H G Geevarghese Mar Coorilos, working president, STOVS also delivered the address.



Fr Varghese Amayil, general secretary, STOVS, Fr M P George, coordinator OKR region and Fr Kuriakose Thomas Pallichira, Brahmavar Diocese Secretary, also felicitated the gathering.

Fr V C Jose, convener, Priest Conference, delivered the vote of thanks.

H G Joseph Mar Dionysus, H G Yuhanon Mar Diascorus, H G Yuhanon Mar Demetrius, H G Geevarghese Mar Yulios, and H G Mar Seraphim were present.

On this occasion, the Priest Conference Souvenir and the Diocesan Diary were released by His Holiness Paulose II.

The inaugural meet ended with singing of traditional Konkani Hymn 'Laudate Dominum' and the Catholicate Hymn 'Catholic Mangal Ganam'.
