Mangaluru: PU college student kidnapped in broad daylight

Mangaluru, Jul 22: In a shocking incident that occurred on the morning of Monday, Jul 22, at Varkady Kaliyoor under Manjeshwar police station limits of the district of Kasargod in Kerala state, a PU student of a private college of Thokkottu in the city was kidnapped by a gang that arrived in a car.

Harris (17), son of Hassan Kunhi, a resident of Kaliyoor Padavu is the student who was abducted by the culprits. Harris is studying in PUC in the private college that is situated at Thokkottu in the city.

He was riding a two-wheeler along with his sister at the time of the incident. He was waylaid by a gang that arrived in a car near the auditorium of Kaliyoor Padavu, assaulted him and forcefully took him with them as per the complaint filed in the police station.

Manjeshwar police are on the lookout for the culprits involved in the act.

    Probably a personal dispute among the group members and they wanted to settle a score with Harris .
    That is why Harris sister is not harmed or any misbehavior in the incident. (community girl is like a sister)

    Decades ago, Kasargod and the entire belt in North Kerala, was a land of peace , amity n tranquillity..... Today it is synonymous with religious extremism.... Almost all other communities, have migrated to safer areas, in the adjoining districts...... This reminds us vividly, about similar situation, in Kashmir valley, of JNK state......

    Kidnapped that too in broad daylight in the morning and news broke out after noon. During the span of period culprits are still at run without any clue and also a matter of concern over the amount of efforts over police dept.
