Mangaluru: Man reposes faith on fake caller - Loses Rs 39,999

Mangaluru, Jul 20: A complaint has been registered in the cyber police station here about swindling of Rs 39,999 from the credit card standing in the name of a city resident. The credit card holder had reposed faith on the caller who introduced himself as an employee of Reserve Bank of India and provided all details relating his credit card.

An unidentified person had called the complainant on July 18, duly identifying himself as an employee of Reserve Bank of India. He said that new credit card is being issued to the customer in replacement of the old one.

He then collected all details about the old credit card. Within minutes, the person got message that the caller had siphoned off Rs 39,999 from his credit card account.
