Mangaluru: Engineering student killed in accident at Asaigoly

Mangaluru, Jul 20: Muhammed Sawad (23), a student of P A Engineering College, Deralakatte, who suffered serious injuries in the bike accident which occurred near Asaigoly, Konaje, on the night of Thursday July 18 succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in the city.

Muhammed Sawad was a resident of Pullu in Asaigoly. He was returning home after buying milk from Asaigoly when the accident happened just about a hundred meters away from Asaigoly junction. The bike driven by Sawad collided with another motor bike that was moving towards Konaje from the direction of Deralakatte. Sawad suffered critical head injuries in the accident and was admitted into a private hospital at Deralakatte. Two persons who were seated on the other motor bike sustained minor injuries.

As Sawad's condition worsened, he was shifted to a hospital in the city where he breathed his last on Friday.

Sawad was the only son of Sulaiman Pullu, a member of Dakshina Kannada district wakf committee. He was a final year diploma student of P A Engineering College. He has left behind parents and two sisters.

A case about this accident was registered in the city (south) traffic police station.
