Mangaluru, Jul 19: Dengue fever scare is increasing in the district. One more girl student succumbed to the deadly fever.

Shraddha Shetty (11), daughter of Kishore Shetty, a resident of Jeppu Morgans Gate is the unfortunate victim, who lost her life due to dengue fever.

She was studying in seventh standard of a private school in the city.

Both the daughters of Kishore Shetty were affected by dengue fever. The elder daughter was discharged from the hospital recently. However, the younger daughter, Shraddha died in the hospital as the treatment did not work.

    It is very sad to know that 11-year-old Shraddha Shetty succumbed to dengue fever. May her soul RIP and condolences to the bereaved family and loved ones. This fever is fatal if not treated on time. Government and heath care authorities should take immediate steps to control it. Prevention is better than cure.

    In Mangalore, the popular Nirmala Nagara Yojana is a very effective scheme to implement cleanliness in the city.

    The rankings for 2017 were published by Numbeo, an independent user-generated global database, in its website, Mangaluru is ranked 12th best in the world, beating even some of the major cities in countries like Australia, the UK, and Japan.

    As on Friday, the city has 441 positive cases of dengue and 100-odd suspected cases, as per Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil.

    I don't understand how the Numbeo selected Mangalore with such highest number epidemic case related dengue and elephantiasis cases?

    One of the highest hatred districts of India and falling health care, everything seems to not right for Mangalore city.

    Let's not forget ruling BJP is in power since 1991 for 25 long years. This city would have surpassed the rest of India in terms of the 'Smart city'.
    But the smart city lacks smart people. The student death from mosquito-borne disease indicates the cleanliness of the city.
    When politics overcome emotions the normal victims will be common people.

    Both govt and MCC are lifeless. There is nobody to hear peoples greivances. Our reps are busy in horse trading to stabilize and destabilise the govt. MCC's drive to prevent and earadicate mosquitos is only a show off in papers. They are worried about water cloggs inside our compound and no action on high breeding centres like open channels, stagnat water in canals, drinage leak and roadside ponds.

    There should be good preventative efforts by government to prevent Dengue The health authorities must swing into action and prevent Dengue fever. Dengue is caused by mosquitoes and good mosquito control measures must be started.

    No one will be bothered until 1000s die.. these political persons are safe in resorts and five star hotels... and they provide all the necessary luxury and safety to their family members while we who have elected them sit front of TV to watch their fights for the position.. Nothing can be done until many people loose their life, and that is when we will wake up and fight... please people wake up soon or we might loose our dear and near ones... politicians are busy day dreaming about making money and getting a position... they are not bothered about anyone

    In my life I never heard any political person infected or died of any sickness like dengue
    This government should learn from gulf
    I live in Kuwait for the past many years. Here like India there is no tax.!!
    Instead government paying their citizens who are jobless.
    And there are cleaning company for each areas
    And one man is responsible for his area. So everywhere clean. No sickness here. Sickness comes where there is dirty
    My question is why our India cannot give contract for cleaning company?
    So that many unemployed youths can get jobs..
    Together city also will be clean.
    Specially drainages must be constructed in such a way that no water should accumulate
