Bengaluru: Drunken rider bites traffic police

Bengaluru, Jul 15: In an incident of drunken road rage, a motorcyclist bit a traffic cop and hit him with his helmet at Lalbagh West Gate in Basavanagudi, South Bengaluru.

According to the police, Vijay Kumar, the accused is a resident of Thyagarajanagar and works for a pre-owned car showroom.

On Friday, Kumar was driving his bike in an inebriated state and hit an auto-rickshaw. Head constable Suresh who witnessed the accident rushed to help Kumar who was fallen on the road. However, Kumar thought that Suresh will detain him. He then started arguing with Suresh and hit him with his helmet and also bit him. Suresh got injured on his head and started to bleed. When pedestrians tried to help Suresh, Kumar tried to attack them too.

Finally, with a help of few motorists, Suresh took Kumar to the police station. Both Suresh and Kumar are taken to Victoria hospital. While Suresh is being treated, Kumar is subjected to medical examination.

A case has been booked against Kumar.
