Bengaluru: Disgruntled Congress MLA Nagaraj makes a U-turn, goes to Mumbai

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Jul 14: It seems the joy of leaders of the coalition government was short-lived. MLA M T B Nagaraj, who had agreed to take back his resignation, suddenly left for Mumbai in unexpected turn of events on the morning of Sunday, July 14.

Discussions were held with Nagaraj by the leaders of Congress and JD (S) on Saturday in order to convince him to take back his resignation and help in saving the coalition government from collapsing. Nagaraj agreed to take back his resignation but with a condition that he will resign only after he discusses the matter with K Sudhakar, MLA of Chikkaballapur, who is among the rebels who have resigned from Congress.

As per the sources Nagaraj is now on his way to Mumbai to join the other rebel MLAs. Some TV channels showed the pictures of Nagaraj boarding a chartered flight to go to Mumbai.

Surprisingly, Nagaraj still says that he is with the Congress party. Before leaving his residence in the city, the MLA told the reporters that Sudhakar is not able to be contacted as he has kept his phone in switched-off mode. “I will convince and try to bring Sudhakar back to Congress. As we both resigned together, we do not want to be separated now. This information has been given to the leaders of the Congress party." he said.

It seemed the Congress had made some inroads, after a long day's discussions and negotiations with Nagaraj. But now it looks like all that effort has gone in vain.

To a query by the media persons as to what decision he will take if he does not meet Sudhakar, MLA Nagaraj said that he will decide it on the morning of Monday.

The Legislators should be in their constituency and what they are doing in Mumbai? It makes sense to go to the place where they elected and either resign or do anything you want, but going to Mumbai surely gives an indication that these people are got elected not to serve but get their personal motives achieved. They don't even feel ashamed as they are bargaining like the small children with their parents for toys.

    Dear Peoples Representative( Any Party)

i am shocked to read that MTB Nagaraj travelled to Mumbai in charted flight just because MLA Sudhakar is not reachable in phone.

Dear MTB, u know hotel name where he is staying, u can ask receiptionist to connect to his room, there are other 10-15 MLAs, u can call any one of them and tell them to give phone to Sudhakar, or u can send him telegrame, mail or anything...

in 1990s there were no mobile and people lived also.

last time Siddu travelled to Dehli, because he could not discuss about cabinet expansion in phone with RG.

Dear Peoples representative, its hard earned money of common man, and common man is watching you.

still am not able to believe that MTB is travelling to Mumbai in charted flight just because Sudhakar kept his mobile switched off...

A request to the common man. We fight among ourselves based on religion, based on party affiliation. But for what? These filthy MLAs, MPs we elected, go wherever money and power takes them. They are treated as kings and fly chartered planes, while we continue to fight among ourselves for them. They don't CARE, unless there is some profit for them. Wake up! Stop this Hindu, muslim, pappu, feku..and start naming and shaming these shameless politicians in ONE VOICE!

The total MLAs are 118 in the coalition. 5 of them want to be the CM of Ktaka. 12 of them want the Deputy CM role. All of them want to have a good money making ministerial berths. So how will Cong do that. The state Govt has no funds . If the coalition sticks then please be ready to see a hike in fuel prices in the state soon.
