Mangaluru: Women's safety awareness programme 'Abhaya' held at St Agnes PU College

Mangaluru, Jul 13: The 'Abhaya' women’s forum of St Agnes PU College, here, organised 'Swaraksha for women', an awareness programme for women's safety. Karthik Kateel and Shobhalatha were the resource persons.

Kateel raised awareness on the increasing number of cybercrimes and its drastic consequences. He also emphasized on the ways we could save ourselves from this menace.

Kateel then taught a few techniques to be used as self-defence when young girls face any incidence of attack or harassment. The techniques taught were simple, easy and less risky.

He also elaborated on the probable reactions of the attacker and how girls can attack accordingly.



The session was highly informative and beneficial to all the students.

The vice principal, Sr Janet Sequeira and Preema Correa, staff incharge were present.

The gathering was welcomed by Anisha Michel Sequeira and the vote of thanks was proposed by Melita Tellis.
