Kundapur: Child abduction case - Police on manhunt for culprits

Kundapur, Jul 11: The investigation with regards to the case of abduction of the two-year-old girl child, who was sleeping alongside her mother, in the wee hours of Thursday, July 11 is being done with great intensity and pace.

SP of the district Nisha James is personally involved in the process. She visited the house of Kumtiberu Santhosh Naika and got all the details of the happenings that led to the abduction of the child. SP Nisha DySP Dinesh Kumar and Circle Inspector Santhosh Naik are physically present at the house of Santhosh Naika and everyone is being interrogated personally.

Dog squad had arrived earlier and did the searching on the spot. However, no clear information was available. There are four approaching roads to Kumtiberu and the CCTV cameras on all the roads are being verified for any clues of the abductors. Teams are formed under DySP Dinesh Kumar and DCIB officials and inquiry is being conducted in different angles as per the information shared by SP Nisha James with the journalists.

Kundapur, Jul 11: In a shocking incident that occurred at 4 am on Thursday, July 11 at the Edamoge village of the taluk, a two-year-old, girl child who was sleeping besides her mother was abducted by two men.

The kidnapped child is identified as the daughter of Kumti Beru Santhosha Naika, a resident of the extremely remote village of Edamoge.

The child was sleeping with the mother. At around 4 am, the kidnappers entered the house through the left door and lifted the child from the mat. The mother woke up due to the slight movement of culprits and ran behind them begging them to give her child back. Both the masked kidnappers jumped into the nearby river Kubja and swam across it with the child and escaped towards Hosangadi.

The whole episode is a mystery. Shankaranarayana police have visited the spot and are conducting the investigation.

    So sad praying for safety of little angel. Karnataka police is smart not like UP, Bihar . I am confident they will crack the case. Just praying hope child is not in wrong hands by begging mafia, human trafficking...poor angel so scared must be...Dear Lord protect the little one,help police catch the culprit

    I only hope and pray the girl will be safe somewhere ,not fallen to bad hands or opfer from any religious ceremony.Or I am not thinking bad,but quite possible father ordered the girl to take away?because it is a girl?.since it rained before, dogsquad will not find any spur of the girl. Pity the parents.

    In the photos given here, can see one more child probably a boy (father is holding)... then how abductors could see only a girl child that too at 4am..? Mornings 7/8 o'clock is only dark due to the clouds.. early mornings are very darker now a days... They jump in the river then mother jumped... Strange really!

    you are not at all worried about that child. you are only interested in blaming bjp group. you didn't find any fault from other political party. why we need state govt if they are not concerned about the citizen.

    you have mentioned something in your comments. but how can you forget attack on other religious place. what about stealing cows from poor people's hut by showing talwar. what is your opinion on attack/murder of other people. have you forgot the kerala bishop case. don't be biased. all are human beings, don't be selective in choosing the incidents for blame game.
