Mangaluru: Milagres College organises get-together for BA students

Mangaluru, Jul 10: The department of English recently organised a 'Freshers’ Day' for the I BA students at Milagres College.

Prof Mary Mammen, retired professor, department of English, Milagres College was the chief guest. She urged the students to utilise to the maximum the library facility. She said, “Develop your reading habit. It will lead you to the greatest height. In order to improve your vocabulary, you need to read, listen and communicate more. Reading books broadens your knowledge and your knowledge leads you to achieve success."

The principal, Dr Vincent Alva in his speech said, “Begin to communicate in broken English, gradually you will speak perfect English."

Prof Melwin Rego, dean of the Humanities department was present on the dais.

The faculty members of English, Hindi, Kannada and Humanities department were present on the occasion.

Lalith of 3rd BA compered the programme. Bikash Pradhan of 3rd BA welcomed the gathering.

After the formal function, James and Bikash of 3rd BA conducted many activities for the students.
