Rahul adamant on quitting as Congress President

New Delhi, Jun 27 (IANS): Congress President Rahul Gandhi remains adamant on stepping down as the party President despite growing demands that he must continue in the post, General Secretary K.C. Venugopal said on Thursday.

"We are still trying to convince him. Party workers from across the country want him to continue as the party chief," Venugopal told the media.

At the same time, Gandhi has said that he will chair crucial meetings until a new party chief was found, Venugopal said. "There is a meeting today (Thursday) and he shall chair that too."

Gandhi announced his decision to quit as Congress President after the party suffered a major blow in the Lok Sabha elections, winning just 52 seats. Gandhi himself was defeated in Amethi in Uttar Pradesh although he was elected to the Lok Sabha from Wayanad in Kerala.

Suddenly they will exit and the party will go ahead with new leadership. after 10 to 15 years a new Congress party will form on which people will show trust. Then our Pappu will suddenly enter as PM candidate. Jago choro jago.. kitna gulami karoge.. pappu is really scared of the new home minister because he and his mom has screwed his life once upon a time.

Please Congressmen , respect his right decision, he knows his limitations as he is not cut out for the dirty nitty gritty of Indian Politics. There are more capable leaders who can revive th Congress, eg. Tharoor, Scindia, Pilot, Deora, even Priyanka would be a
Better candidate as it seems the Congressmen cannot survive without a Nehru-Gandhi at the helm, but th Vadhra tag is a Damocles sword in her neck.

Congress will have a tough time ...the scheming Gujju duo are determined to keep their poll war cry " Mukht Bharat Congress" -
