Karkala, Jun 26: The road connecting from Kantavara high school to Keplaje Marigudi Kadandale and Paladka is completely damaged. Vehicle transport has become difficult. Huge potholes are formed throughout the road. Traffic of even small vehicles has become impossible.

The road was tarred about twenty years ago and not been re-tarred since then. People have requested local administration and local MLA for several times but to no avail. It is an important short cut to proceed to Moodbidri and international airport. Buses do not ply on the road. Pedestrians find it hard to walk on it.

Elected representatives only assure that they will repair the road and disappear after elections.

Divya Girish Ameen, member of district panchayat said that a budget of Rs 55 lac is approved for the road from MLA’s fund and they will try to get it repaired soon.
