Mangaluru: National level workshop on NAAC held at St Agnes College

Mangaluru, Jun 25: A three-day national Level Workshop on documentation and preparedness for accreditation was organised by St Agnes College (Autonomous) Mangaluru in association with Xavier board of higher education in India from June 20 to 22. Thirty-eight participants attended the workshop. They were from different states of the country and ranged from Principals of various institutions to the IQAC coordinators.

The workshop was formerly inaugurated by the secretary general of Xavier board Dr Sr Annamma Philip on June 20. In her address she gave the dynamics of the workshop and stressed on the need to know the various criteria which come under NAAC. Dr Sr Jeswina, principal, St Agnes College gave the Presidential address in which she highlighted the achievements of St Agnes College and also mentioned that the college would be completing its centenary in 2020-2021. Dr Nancy D’Costa, associate professor, department of Secretarial Practice welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource persons. Dr Ita D’Souza, IQAC coordinator of St Agnes College from the department of Chemistry rendered the vote of thanks.



The two resource persons for the workshop were former faculty Dr Ordetta Mendoza from Stella Maris College Chennai and former faculty Dr Joe Jesudurai from Loyola College Chennai. They discussed the seven criteria of the NAAC manual in detail which was an eye opener for the participants of the affiliated as well as autonomous colleges. The participants could clear the doubts and all their queries were answered by the two resource persons. They touched upon the necessity for documentation and steps to go about with the same. They also enlightened the participants to the uploading of information on the NAAC website.

The workshop ended with the valedictory on June 22, where the participants gave a very constructive feedback and later certificates were distributed to all the participants.
