Vietnam Football Federation signs deal with German FC


Hanoi, Jun 20 (IANS): The Vietnam Football Federation and German football club VfL Wolfsburg have signed a two-year deal aimed at promoting the development of football in Vietnam, local media reported on Thursday.

The partnership will focus on organizing friendly matches and training courses in Vietnam and Germany, developing professional youth football, and exchanges of specialist staff, the Vietnam News quoted the federation's general secretary Le Hoai Anh as saying, reports Xinhua news agency.

Wolfsburg promised to send their fitness and goalkeeper coaches to work with junior Vietnamese teams. The two sides are also set to work together on marketing and sponsorship activities, according to the federation.

Wolfsburg won the Bundesliga, Germany's top football league, in the 2008-09 season.
