Udupi: Mudarangadi gram panchayat borewell recharge by Adani UPCL

Udupi, Jun 19: Adani owned UPCL, which is operating power plants in Yellur village in Udupi District, has come forward to recharge the borewells in the limits of Mudarangadi gram panchayat. Based on the request of Grama Panchayat, UPCL has handed over the confirmation letter to take-up the borewell recharge work under its CSR programmes. The request letter and confirmatory letter were mutually exchanged by David D’Souza, president of Mudarangadi gram panchayat and Kishore Alva, president of Adani UPCL, at the premises of panchayat office.

Handing over the letter, Alva informed that keeping in view the shortage of water in the recent past and to conserve the water in upcoming monsoon, Adani UPCL will be undertaking the borewell recharge works. Appraising the scope of borewell recharging works, Alva told that this is one of the ways to maintain moisture in the earth, which will also facilitate in rain water harvesting. This initiation will be effective in overcoming the water deficit for the villagers, he opined. He also informed that the works have been already started and will ensure early completion.



Receiving the confirmation letter, David D’Souza thanked Adani UPCL for the initiation.

Jayanth, panchayat development officer, Jayanti Poojarthy, vice president of Mudarangadi gram panchayat, Shobha Fernandes, Vinoda Poojarthy, Gabriel Mathias, members, UPCL company’s AGM Girish Navada, and senior manager Ravi R Jere were present on the occasion.
